How to search found asset

Step 1

The following explains the instruction numbers in the diagram above:

1 : Select the found asset option

2 : Select the correct asset group from listed asset groups. Using the wrong asset group will not yield valid result.

3 : Select the exact asset manufacturer from the list

4 : Click the search button

5 : Select from the list of the country to be searched, searching with the wrong country will not yield the expected result.

6 : Provide at least one of the three specified identifiers. Your input will only be accepted if it matches the expected pattern for the identifier type.

7 : Click the submit button and the system will check if there is any match. Matched listed will be displayed below.

8 : Click on the listed records that matched your missing or stolen asset for details as shown in the image below.

Step 2

The following explains the instruction numbers in the diagram above:

1 : Click on the listed records that matched your missing or stolen asset for details.

2 : This section shows details provided by the poster and the current status of the post. Active means no one has contacted the poster yet.

3 : Drop inBox message for the poster, and click the send button, afterwards, do check your inBox message for response from the poster.

4 : The table displays the list of the current and previous found asset posted by the current poster, review of the shown history can provide some information about the genuineness of the current post. Check out if the previous posts have a zero report abuse count, or deleted by poster flag.

5 : If you have tried to contact the poster without success, or you strongly suspect the post is fraudulent, click the report abuse button to register your frustration. Note, an account will be blocked if there are many reported abuse cases. Also, members who maliciously reported post as abuse may also have their account blocked.

Step 3

The following explains the instruction numbers in the diagram above:

1 : When any member has initiated a contact with the poster, the item claim status will move from active to amber: owner reunite in progress mode.

2 : You cannot contact the poster more than once, after the first contact subsequent contacts should be via the inBox message.

3 : After you have contacted the poster, and you are reunited with the found asset, then you can click on the asset collected button to close the post.

Step 4

The following explains the instruction numbers in the diagram above:

1 : When the found asset has been reunited with owner, and the recipient clicks the asset collected, the item claim status will move from amber: owner reunite in progress, to green: reunited with owner.

2 : When in green reunited mode, no further update will be allowed. Make sure you have the item collected before clicking the asset collected button.
